I just bought a new portable external hard drive that I can take with me in the car and on the go. I have one that is not portable but I wanted something I could use when I am not sitting at my computer desk. It will even be nice to use it in the living room while watching a movie with Tod. My new portable drive is 5 TB and was only $110.00 at Walmart. It's regularly $160. Here is the model:

I have had problems with Seagate. Is it solid state, Evelyn?
I purchased a solid state Sandisc 4TB, I believe. I have it in a little pocket adhered to the back of my laptop screen so I don't have to keep plugging and unplugging it. Have laptop, will travel! ;)

I've had trouble with Seagates too, let's face it, it's not if an ehd is going to fail, but when, but my Seagates failed faster than the Western Digital hard drives I've had. I have a small portable SSD drive that I use with my laptop for an SSD scratch drive. It's smaller than the palm of me hand, 1TB and I got it in 2019 for $151. I don't travel with my laptop, but it's usb c so it connects to my tablet. This summer I put some of my new scrapping stuff on it SO I could putz at the lake with organizing. I LOVE that pocket! I broke one that I used with my laptop one summer when I forgot it was attached , one too many times, and stood up & it landed on the tile floor.

What a great idea Vicki! I don't have a laptop any more but that would have been soooo handy!!! I have been re-organising my EHD's so I have 5 sitting on my desk at the moment! lol! Three Samsung, 1 Western Digital and 1 Seagate which is a newest one so keeping fingers crossed it keeps working!!! The other ones I have had for quite a few years with no trouble. :)

I went with Solid State EHD after my Seagate crashed last fall. Lost several months of my LOs before I was able to get them printed!

This might be helpful to someone. I have been re-organizing my many EHD's also. During the process, my USB ports started acting wonky and kept disconnecting. Until my son was able to thoroughly troubleshoot the problem, I bought a hub that has been very helpful. I connect it to my laptop through the C drive. It accommodates my memory cards, thumb drives, and external hard drives all at the same time. It was about $30 from amazon:
