The challenge was a new one for me. I've done overlays but never blended two papers together. I used [URL='https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Lake-Memories-Bundle-by-et-designs.html']Lakeside Memories[/URL] patterned paper 5 and [URL='https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Just-Add-Water-Digital-Scrapbooking-Kit.html']Just add Water[/URL] paper 6 and blended them. I used linear burn and changed the lighting. I really wanted these beautiful light papers to be darker for the photo I used. The mask and rope are from Lakeside Memories. The photos are of scattering my dad's ashes. He loved chocolate chip cookies. We threw them in the lake after him. I envisioned cookies floating across the lake and making a cool photo. Nope, they sank like rocks. I got one photo of one cookie. So disappointed but added laughter in a sad moment. We still laugh about how my cookies sink like a rock. Real butter, that's the trick. Makes them sink HEHE

Oh wow!!! What a fabulous page and that background is simply perfect!! The darkened colour and the soft textures make for a perfect backdrop to your precious photo and your journaling is so fun! and I thinking that your Dad had a humorous side to him and would thought it a great joke as well! x Perfect layout!

Thank you Ona. Yes, he did love a good joke and he would have been laughing with me.

Oh, Tracy, this is truly so beautiful and has such a blend of emotions. I can only imagine how much your Dad loved you. I know how happy he would be to see you embrace life with joy and laughter, like when tossing those chocolate chip cookies into the water, during such an emotional time. :heartpumpred:

Thank you Betty Jo. It was funny. A boat full of people throwing cooking into the water to have them sink before you could take photos. Everyone thought I was nuts when I said what we were doing with the cookies but they did it. Then we laughed as they sank fast.

What a great idea to throw his favorite cookies into the lake, hoping they would float.
After reading your journal, I also understand the detail photo. That's the one cookie that did stay afloat. And yes that sad time turned into a fun time because of the cookies.

Thank you. I only got the one cookie photo cause I told hubs to take the last one and throw it where I had the camera focused. :giggle4: Good thing there was one extra cookie. I really wanted to add the journaling to the layout but it felt over crowded and ruined the background paper (which was the challenge) so I added it to the LO description.
