For the love of Fashion
Who: 3 sisters and a mom
What: matching dresses
When: 1969
Where: California
Why: Our beautiful and talented mother always dressed elegant, yet hip and she also loved to sew. On this day we were on our way to have a family portrait taken. Mom did her hair and all three of ours too! I can remember this dress like it was yesterday. I loved the color and the sweet lace trim to the bodice and neckline. Lace trimmed Bobby-socks were paired up with shiny black patent leather Mary-Jane shoes. The mini hem line was in vogue as was hot pantsand go go boots. Mom had all of these chic trendy fashions and I always remember her as being beautiful. I am thankful to mom for her love of fashion and for buying me a sewing machine, on my tenth birthday and teaching me to sew.
CIRCLE JOURNALING:
As a little girl I would watch my mother sew. As the fabric scraps fell to the floor I would pick them up and create clothes for my Barbie Dolls. I would copy the designs that my mother was making for herself. I learned fashion with a needle and thread when I was a little girl.
