I have both a sister and sister-in-law in chemo for breast cancer. My sister is completing the last round next month but has opted for the mastectomy as well as a precaution so that will be coming in the future. She and I are so much alike it's not funny, even though we are not blood sisters. So it's easier to find ways to encourage and support her.
My SIL had the surgery quite some time ago, but that didn't solve the problem. She is also doing her last round soon. It has taken a horrible toll on her body and spirit. She like diamond painting, so I have started exploring it as a way to bond with her and help her through. She will love the beach ladies - the piece she did that got me interested was of some lovely "big girls!" I can't wait to see how this smaller one works out and - if I really like it - there is a much larger companion piece with 6 more ladies in it. I also finally found the fabric this is from and I think I want to do a fussy cut whirligig quilt with it. These girls, like Betty Boop, just have sass. These projects will join my collection of Jim FitzPatrick Celtic art in my hallway.
The background is paper 3 in multiply mode over paper 1, then paper 3 in Multiply mode is used as an overlay. Beyond that, there are no special techniques, mostly just playing with it until I was happy.
