July AJ Week 3 {CONNECTION}

I was really drawn to one of Vicky's quotes for Week 3: [I]"One must always maintain one's connection to the past and yet ceaselessly pull away from it." Gasto Bachelard.[/I] The picture in front is me holding my new little grandson, Boston. This word [B]CONNECTION [/B]has repeatedly drawn me back to the past, and that's okay. The picture in the back is Chuck and me and is a few years old. The past and present are so intertwined that I decided to show the [B]CONNECTION [/B]on my page for this week.

This is so beautiful and so touching! I love how the quote you used and your gorgeous pictures. I love your flowers scattered around your border and the textured background, I love how you connected the present and future, with your new baby grandson with the past photo of you and Chuck. Congratulations on being selected as Standing O 62!

This is beautiful, Cheryl, and really conveys wanting to hold onto the past, yet needing to move on to life in the present! I often wish Tim could see his grandchildren and how they've grown and matured and I know you wish the same thing for your Chuck. But, we wouldn't want them to come back from heaven to this corrupt old world! Congratulations on your Standing O! Thanks for participating! :hug4:

Thanks so much for your wonderful and insightful comments, Tracy. You always get my "connections" or thought processes. I can't help but be pulled into the past, yet we have so much to be thankful for in the now. I wish Chuck could see his baby great-grandson, Boston. He and Ava were SO close and I know he would love seeing her sweet little baby. :heartpumpred::heartpumpred::heartpumpred:

That quote is so perfect to describe grief because we are caught between wanting to keep them alive, and working on moving forward without them.
