Hello, my friends! This is Susie standing in for the week for Kel to share some of the gallery standouts of the week! There were so many to choose from. I don’t know how she does it each week!!! The gallery is all so full of beautiful creations!! Here are 10 from the last week that I picked out to show case. As always, I link both the name of the layout and the image itself to the gallery it’s posted in, so if you have some time, click on through and give them all some love!

This first one is by Chai, and it’s called “Refugees”

I love the beautiful blending that she did of the photo of the buildings and the ocean waves crashing, and the Statue of Liberty standing tall and proud. Her text work is superb with the wonderful word art and the journaling somehow becoming part of the clouds. The silhouette of the two people standing looking at their new home is just so touching! I love that the poem is chronicled. So many people don’t know the entire poem! What a treasure this page is!

Next we have “Christmas Day” by Janik

I just love the adorable photos and the superb pile of greenery that they sit on. The Christmas ornaments are so bright and cheery and perfectly shadowed! I love the cute candy cane and orange slice, and I can just smell the pine and spices!!!!

AmaneseFe posted “December Notes”

I love the simple classic beauty of this page! From the wonderful figurine of the tree to the delicate background, this is a keeper! I love the glitter spill, along with the way she piled the pages and sweet little elements underneath her photo. The shadowing makes it look like it’s a photo of real elements!

“Aesthetics of Creating Time” by hoodsmom is next up.

I saw this in the gallery and it just screamed at me to click on it and see what it was all about. I think the bold black background had something to do with it – but it was the pile of stamps and letters that really make this page SHINE! I see the statue as time passing, and then the large letters spelling time make a perfect bed for all the paint and blended items. The Quote is perfect too.

Joansmor really hit it out of the park with THIS one! It’s a 2 pager, so I split them to make them easier to see.

The “Then and Now” aspect of this page is spot on!!! I love how she kept the blended photos the group photo, and all the others really show the life long friendship! It was a perfect touch to put her friend who died in black and white and added the “not forgotten” – no one ever leaves our hearts, do they? This is just a perfect heritage page!!

So, shutterbug5 gets the humor award for the day for her “Grandma” layout!

I laughed so hard when I saw this page! What an absolutely charming page! I love the screaming picture of Gramma blended in with the reindeer and the way it all seems to just jump out of the page. The splashes of red are perfect and I love the cute little bow on the reindeer’s antler!

I am especially touched by CathVP’s page “Merry Christmas”

It is a sweet Christmas card to all of us at the O!! I love all the fun elements done in an art journaling way! The black and white Santa makes him really stand out among all the vintage-y colored elements! I love the dog and cat in the corner!!!! Merry Christmas to you as well!!

“Dancing with my Elf” by NLD Designs

Ohh, is that not just one of the most adorable photos you have seen?? Those big blue eyes and the 2 cute little teeth on the bottom are just TDF!! The silver and red color theme is so crisp and Christmasy! LOVE the silver bow, and the tag, and the blending she did is fantastic!

Erin2 posted this fantastic scraplift page!

I just love the way she made sure that all the elements matched the fantastic picture of the young lady she posted!!! The tear effect is great on the photo. One thing I really like is that she used the stitching to lay a foundation for the page, and then placed the elements on top of it, creating a grounding and a direction for all of the pieces to go!

“Winter Heart” by VEER

And with this, we come to the end of our journey for the day. But what a wonderful page to end on!! Isn’t it just beautiful? I really appreciate and feel the poem that is included and the placement of everything around it is just perfection. The jewel of this page however, is the blending of the background so perfectly that everything just flows from it! The windows frame the trees, the trees near the sled seem to be part of the same scene, and her cluster with the ice skate is just so beautiful!

Well, this is almost the last of the Gallery Standouts for the year 2023! I can’t believe that 2023 will end in 9 days! It just seemed that we turned the page to 2023! Thank you for joining me, and thank you to Kel for letting me take over for the day.
